Quick Launch Toolbar for Windows XP

Earlier versions of Windows shipped with a Quick Launch Toolbar next to the Start Button, which contains a shortcut icon to Internet Explorer (IE), Outlook Express (OE), and a show desktop (minimize all windows) icon. One click on any of those icons open the program up in a browser window. This was especially handy when surfing and wanting to open a new browser. It saved the time having to minimise all open windows to get back to the desktop.

Select Quick Launch Unfortunately for those of us that liked the Quick Launch feature in past Windows editions, it is not a standard feature of Windows XP, but you can add it back quite easily.

Below shows two ways to achieve the task.

First, you can right click the Task Bar, select Toolbars and then select Quick Launch.
The second way is to right click the Task Bar, choose Properties, and then check next to "Show Quick Launch."

Either way, the familiar Quick Launch toolbar will appear, with a default mail program, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Show Desktop, Windows Media Player and icon.
